A much lower price point would make more people curious about Halion. This problem can only be solved by bringing the sampler to the people. But without good content available nobody would buy a new sampler - especially if the well established market leader only costs 2/3 the price (in practice). This looks absolutely like a ‘take it or leave it’ approach from Steinberg’s sales department and it seems like not many people take the first option.īut a sampler needs a critical mass of users or no one would ever create good content for it. Too bad for potential new customers and really disappointing for existing customers. Steinberg bills it as a VST Sampler and Sound.
Halion 4 tutorials upgrade#
If you wait for the next upgrade sale (usually around easter) then you can get the entire Komplete package for the price of a single Halion license. HALion 6 is a hybrid synth/sample player/sampler that is an extremely capable and attractive virtual instrument. Just a few days ago you could get Kontakt for less than 190€ in the annual Black Friday sale.
People usually buy it as part of Komplete or in one of NI’s countless sales. I don’t know anyone who paid the full price for Kontakt recently. Starting with the real basics, progressing through all menus, pages & instruments, right through to making an 8 part track with only. Some could say that H4’s price is comparable to Kontakt’s but in practice it isn’t. This VST does a lot more than you probably realise, and it comes free with Cubase In this new course, you will learn everything you need to know about Halion Sonic SE3 over 13 lessons. I think that Halion’s price point is really a problem for many people, especially compared to Kontakt.
